The Trans Income Project is at a pivotal stage, transitioning from grassroots support to a more sustainable funding model. This grant will be instrumental in bolstering our capacity to serve the transgender community effectively. Currently, the funding landscape for trans nonprofits in the South is challenging, with limited resources and stiff competition for grants. Many trans organizations face hurdles in securing consistent funding due to systemic barriers like bias and stigma.
