Sex workers face unique challenges when trying to unionize

Sex worker labor organizing involves efforts by individuals, collectives, or organizations within the sex work industry to advocate for the rights, safety, and dignity of sex workers. This activism seeks to address the systemic issues that sex workers face, including stigma, discrimination, violence, and legal marginalization. Sex worker labor organizing often focuses on empowering workers to collectively voice their concerns, demand better working conditions, challenge oppressive laws and policies, and access essential services such as healthcare and legal support.

Our nonprofit works to support sex worker organizing because we believe in the inherent rights, dignity, and agency of all individuals engaged in sex work. By advocating for and facilitating organizing efforts within the sex work community, we aim to empower workers to collectively address the systemic injustices they face. Our primary aims include:

  1. Empowerment: We strive to empower sex workers to assert their rights, advocate for better working conditions, and challenge discriminatory laws and policies.

  2. Safety and Well-being: We prioritize the safety and well-being of sex workers by providing resources, support networks, and advocacy to address issues such as violence, exploitation, and stigma.

  3. Community Building: Through organizing efforts, we foster solidarity, mutual aid, and community resilience within the sex work community, creating spaces for peer support, skill-sharing, and collective action.

  4. Policy Reform: We advocate for evidence-based policies that center the voices and experiences of sex workers, aiming to decriminalize and destigmatize sex work while promoting harm reduction, access to healthcare, and social protections.

  5. Intersectional Justice: Recognizing the intersecting identities and experiences of sex workers, we strive for inclusive and intersectional approaches to organizing that prioritize the needs of marginalized communities, including transgender and LGBTQ+ sex workers.

By supporting sex worker organizing, we aim to create a more just, equitable, and safer environment for all individuals engaged in sex work, fostering resilience, empowerment, and community-led change. Join us in our mission to uphold the rights and dignity of sex workers everywhere.
